An application letter is usually written when a person would like to enroll for courses at a college or university. It is worth remembering that entry and enrollment in colleges and universities has become an extremely competitive prospect. Many more students desire to find a place to earn a degree than there are places to accommodate them. Naturally, the admissions committees only take the best applicants they can find, and they base a large part of their decisions on the application letter written by prospective students. Not all colleges and universities are the same.

Students must apply online and submit all materials Graduate Admissions and Department requirements electronically through the Office of Graduate Admissions. Please note that your recommenders will receive an email from the university days after you submit your application and they should follow the instructions in that email for uploading their letters. Our program offers a transdisciplinary perspective on Environmental Studies at an advanced level. Students have access to faculty expertise in the natural sciences, engineering, social and behavioral sciences, business and economics, the arts, and humanities. The Master of Science degree in Environmental Studies is an important qualification for environmental professionals, and signifies the skills to independently conduct environmental research, environmental impact assessment, environmental planning, and environmental advocacy. Admission to the Environmental Studies Program is competitive.
